While visiting the Dominican Republic a few months ago for a panel I would be speaking on, we were also invited to visit Punta Cana with a hosted stay at the Royalton Bávaro Resort & Spa  so needless to say, I was very excited for the second part of our trip. We were shuttled from Santo Domingo, the island’s capital to the beautiful beaches of Punta Cana.

After about two hours, we arrived in Punta Cana and headed to our resort. Upon arrival we were welcomed with some Mama Juana, a typical Dominican alcoholic drink made of rum, red wine, and honey which is left to soak in a bottle with tree bark and herbs.

The Resort is all-inclusive and we were special guests of the Diamond Club which means that with this upgrade we were given preferred suite locations, butler service, preferential reservations in a la carte restaurants, luxurious amenities in the suite as well as a distinctive wrist bracelet among many other things. Those bracelets were so much better than those not-so-pretty basic plastic bracelets most all-inclusive resorts offer. We were given these (pictured below) that looked much more prettier and pretty much blended with all our outfits. Because, yes, that’s important 🙂

After being checked in by the front desk staff, we were escorted by our butler to our rooms and were given a tour along the way. Yes, as mentioned before, we had private butlers assigned for the length of our stay. Fancy, huh? I’m already loving this Resort. Ours was named Junior.

We made it to our Diamond Club luxury suites and to our surprise, each one had a semi-private swim out pool! This besides also having an in-suite Jacuzzi. Why would you even want to leave your suite?!

What I mean by semi-private is that the pools connect as soon as you swim out, which was pretty cool since all our suites were next to each other. So every night during our stay, we would head to our pools and they’d all connect so it was like a private large pool only for us! I’m already feeling fancy.

The Resort also has the regular pool in the middle of it, as well as a pool closer to the beach which is reserved for the Diamond Club guests, which means we had access to it. Being a Diamond Club guest definitely has its perks!

Below is the pool reserved for the Diamond Club guests 😉

The beach at the Royalton Bavaro Resort is also breathtakingly beautiful! Look at that water!

Because having two pools and a beach is not enough, the Resort also has a lazy river, and I must admit, I might have had too much fun in it. But isn’t that what a vacation is all about?!

And after a few days of relaxation and feeling super fancy at the luxurious Royalton Bavaro Resort, we unfortunately had to head back home back to our regular lives wishing we could have stayed longer. Why must vacations come to an end?!

Thank you to the Royalton Bavaro Resort & Spa for a wonderful hosted stay, as well as to the Dominican Republic Tourism Board for arranging it all.
It was a vacation I will never forget, and a place you definitely need to visit!
