As mentioned in the previous post, I headed to Las Vegas last month for the Latin GRAMMYs and even though I’d be working on most of the trip, I also wanted to take some time to enjoy the trip with my dad. Originally, we had planned a mini vacation with my parents once I knew I’d be driving the 2019 Buick Envision to Las Vegas, but in the end it was only me and my dad since my mom couldn’t make it after all.

A few months ago during our annual trip to Mexico, the first part of the trip was also just me and my dad, and I absolutely love our father/daughter trips so I knew this wouldn’t be the exception. As mentioned, for the trip we’d be driving the Buick Envision which is an SUV. I know, one doesn’t typically think of an SUV when one thinks of Buick, but Buick has come a long way from the Buick days we know, but more on that later.

While in Las Vegas, we visited a few hotels for some interviews and also drove along the Strip.

Among all the eating we got to do while there, we also enjoyed a delicious meal at a Puerto Rican restaurant we recently discovered in Vegas. It was one of our best meals there.

Not to mention, I also made it to the Latin GRAMMYs while there (the reason for the trip). You can read all about my outfit here, and all about the awards soon.

Before heading back to LA and to wrap up a fun week, we also visited Seven Magic Mountains.

I have a history with Buick. I grew up with a Buick in our family. It was one of our favorite cars and was a car we purchased prior to one of our family vacations when I was about 12 years old. I clearly remember the vehicle. It was a 1991 burgundy Buick Regal (in researching a pic for this post, I found out that they Regal still exists and is even more beautiful than before!), and we drove from Los Angeles to British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. It was a 2 week road trip where we stopped along the way visiting new cities and states and had a great time. We kept that vehicle for years to come and it’s basically the family car I remember the most as it’s the one we had for years while I was growing up. Back then, they didn’t have SUVs as part of their fleet so the fact that they expanded is a big plus. I’m currently in the market for another SUV since the vehicle I own is also an SUV, and this one has high possibilities of being the next one.

1991 Buick Regal Limited Sedan

I tried to find a picture of when I was young with our Buick Regal and even though I looked and looked because I know I have one, I couldn’t find it. But in the picture above, you can see how our family car looked back then (found the image online).

I’ve mentioned in previous posts that I’m looking into getting a new SUV and out of all of the ones I’ve had the opportunity of driving and testing out, I had chosen one which to my liking and needs was the best, until I drove this one. This one is now my top pick.

Below, I share with you the reasons why I loved the Buick Envision.

It’s a luxury compact SUV

Yes, you read that right. Not only is it compact which is great for every day use, but it is also considered a luxury SUV. Who doesn’t love luxury? The interior and exterior are so beautifully made that just by looking at it, you can see the luxury in it. It looks fancy but isn’t as expensive as you’d think, which is also another plus. The Buick Envision runs between $31,995-$37,945 depending on the specs and trim you choose. Who would’ve thought you could find a luxury SUV for under $40k?!

It’s a safe vehicle

The rear vision camera besides obviously giving you a rear view of your vehicle also gives you a bird’s eye view of it and its surroundings. Both can be very helpful when it comes to reversing or parking your vehicle. Most of us learned how to drive when vehicles didn’t have any kind of cameras so I’m one to pride myself in knowing how to parallel park, but that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate a good bird’s eye view when doing so. This is an amazing feature for those who aren’t the greatest at parking. The camera is also equipped with a rear cross traffic alert which detects left or right cross traffic and alerts you to avoid any possible collisions. You can read more about all of the safety features here.

Another cool feature is the speed of the vehicle (odometer) reflects on the window right in front of you which means you’ll always know what speed you’re traveling at without having to take your eyes off of the actual road.

Amenities, amenities, amenities

Refined interior, spacious seating for five, flexible cargo space, heated steering wheel, air ionizer, cooled front seats, rear seat climate controls, hands-free power lift gate, and panoramic moonroof are just some of the amenities the Buick Envision carries. Can’t forget about the 4G LTE Wi-Fi® hotspot or the wireless charging either. The Buick Envision really does have it all! You can read more about the features here.

We loved driving the Buick Envision, and I say we because my dad also had a chance to drive it and loved it as well. We also had a great time in Las Vegas and this ride made it much more fun but also much more safe.

Thank you Buick for the loaner which made our trip to Las Vegas much more fun than expected!
