Telemundo recently inaugurated its new $250 million global headquarters here in Miami and I was fortunate enough to be invited to the white carpet and cocktail celebration.
Besides having the opportunity to be in attendance, I was given a personal tour of the new headquarters where everything is state-of-the art. It is a three story 500,000 square foot facility that sits on 21 acres. The building will now house Telemundo Network, Telemundo Deportes, Noticias Telemundo, Telemundo Studios, Universo cable channel, Telemundo International, as well as its digital operations. Prior to this, all of the aforementioned were scattered among different buildings across Miami. I’m also told that it is an eco-friendly building that can withstand a category 5 hurricane.
Here are a few pictures from the new facility as well as a video I took during the tour I got. Some areas I was unable to film as they have yet to be completed or revealed to the public. One of the things I thought was pretty cool is that there are no personal cubicles/desks assigned to employees, no telephones, and no computers as every single employee has been given a laptop and a cell phone so they can work from wherever they are. Employees are assigned a specific area to work from but no specific cubicle/desk since that motivates them to sit wherever they’d like and get to know people they otherwise wouldn’t know. Also check out the cool desks that rise in case you decide you want to stand up while working. Pretty cool, huh?! Check out more of the facilities in the pics and video below.
