Last week I officially started my yearly family vacation, and our first stop was a staycation at the Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive.
I was invited by the resort to visit them in a hosted stay and I figured this would be a great start to our vacation. It was some time off I was greatly looking forward to. Thanks to Kia, we also rode and arrived in style in the 2017 Kia Optima Hybrid, but more about that in another post 😉
After arriving and checking in, we made it to our room that had a beautiful view of one of the pools of the resort.
Thank you to the staff for the lovely welcome!!!
Our view 🙂
I loved the resort as soon as I stepped inside. The resort is newly remodeled as well as the rooms and suites, which is one of the things I loved. Out of all the days we stayed there, we took one day to just enjoy the resort, especially the pools. The other days we took a road trip to Tampa, Clearwater Beach and St. Petersburg, but there will be another post on that.
On the day we relaxed by the pool, we really did relax. One of the best things of going in the low season (reason why I travel during off season) is that you get the whole resort to yourself; you don’t have to share the pools with a lot of other people. There were obviously guests there with us but not as much as there would be during the Summer vacations. The resort has two pools as well as a heated spa, and lush landscaping all around that makes you easily forget you’re in the middle of it all.
I say in the middle of everything because even though this resort looks like it’s far away and secluded, it’s actually not. It’s located right on International Drive and is literally within walking distance of lots of shops and restaurants. As a matter of fact, the Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive is the official hotel of I-Drive 360! I-Drive 360 is literally within walking distance, in fact there’s a walkway outside of the resort that leads you straight to it. I also had a chance to visit it and will be sharing that on another post as well.
The hotel also has a dining option in the pool area, the Gatorville Poolside Bar and Grill. Besides that, you can order to your room should you wish or head to the lobby to The Eye Bar which serves drinks, cocktails and even Starbucks coffee! It’s like, why even leave the resort, right?!
We had a wonderful stay at the resort and couldn’t have asked for a better getaway time. It’s the perfect hotel for when visiting the Orlando area and I realized I need to head back soon because even though I was there for several days, I didn’t get to check out all of the amenities. I need to make another trip back! Definitely, consider it for your next trip to Orlando. Thanks to my collaboration with them, you can now book your stay with a special discount: 30% off their Best Available Rate with NO minimum nights required. Book your stay here!
The resort is located at 8001 International Drive in Orlando, Florida
A BIG thank you to the great staff that made my stay so welcoming and inviting; and thank you to the resort for the invite!!!! See you soon!
Disclosure: I was invited by the resort for a hosted stay in exchange for my review of the hotel, but as always, all opinions are my own.
Beautiful resort! It’s on my list to stay at on my next staycation. By the way seeing you do other stuff other then Disney was cool. I’m going to schedule some time to explore I-360.
Omg it looks so calm and inviting!! I need to visit soon!!
