It’s officially Summer and the 4th of July is our first holiday of the season. If you live in Los Angeles or Miami, then you know the heat for us is year round so we should be using sunscreen year round. But for other states, this is their hot season which is why it’s important to start wearing sunscreen this Summer if you’re not already doing so. Wearing sunscreen is very important because skin cancer has been on the rise because people are not taking Melanoma seriously. Because mostly everyone will be outdoors for the holiday and for the Summer in general, please keep in mind that it is very important to use sunscreen and reapply every 2-3 hours if you’ll be outdoors in order to reduce your chances of getting skin cancer.
As you probably read in my previous post, I attended a L’Oréal Paris Melanoma Awareness event with Diane Keaton and Génesis Rodríguez here in LA a couple of months ago. You can read that post here. L’Oréal Paris gave me and everyone in attendance a bag of goodies so we have no excuses to not use sunscreen.
I’ve only used two of them so far but I am LOVING them! This week my sister (my model for this post-except those are my feet 😉 ) and I went to the beach for our usual walk/jog and we made sure we applied and reapplied sunscreen even though the sun was starting to set.

The two products that I’ve had the chance to use are the L’Oréal Paris Quick Dry Sheer Finish Spray 50+ broad spectrum sunscreen and the L’Oréal Paris Silky Sheer Face Lotion 50+ broad spectrum sunscreen (the two in the middle pictured above). The L’Oréal Paris Quick Dry Sheer Finish Spray 50+ broad spectrum sunscreen has a nice subtle smell and I love that it doesn’t smell like your typical sunscreen. It’s very light on the skin and dries fast like a powder but doesn’t leave your skin white. I also love that because it dries fast, it isn’t sticky or greasy. Highly recommended!!!
The L’Oréal Paris Silky Sheer Face Lotion 50+ broad spectrum sunscreen I already raved about on my Instagram.
The other ones I haven’t had a chance to check out, but plan on giving them a try. I’ll let you know my thoughts on them!
What plans do you have this Summer? Any trips planned or are you staying local? Remember, to wear sunscreen whatever you decide to do!
Those beach pictures look so pretty! Wish I lived near a pretty beach lol xo loved the post.
Thank you!!!
Took a vacation recently and I forgot to lather on sunscreen one of the days. Big mistake! I’m still peeling from it. By the way, LOVE the sunset pictures. 🙂
Tsk, tsk. Hope you learned your lesson lol. Thank you!!
I saw you on the IG chat and now I’m on your blog, full circle! Is it bad that my ‘sunscreen’ is usually coconut oil?
Well, thank you for visiting!! Coconut oil doesn’t have SPF in it so it can’t protect you against UVA and UVB rays, therefore it won’t protect you against skin cancer. I know it can be used as a relief for sunburn but I wouldn’t use it in place of a sunscreen. Hope this helps!
Now I want to go to the beach!
LOL! Well, if you do, enjoy!
You look amazing. I miss Florida so much. And of course, we must protect our skin – such an important topic!
Thank you!! That’s my sister though and that’s a beach here in California but I miss Florida, too!!! 😉
