Our stay at the Villa del Palmar Cancún Beach Resort & Spa {Resort Review}

On our most recent visit to Cancun, we spent a week at Villa del Palmar Cancún Beach Resort & Spa located on Playa Mujeres. While the resort is beautiful, it is important to mention that it is about 25 minutes away from the touristic area of Cancun so you will end up paying for a taxi every time you want to make it out to Avenida Kukulcán which is where most of the resorts and restaurants are located at. If that isn’t a problem for you then this is a great alternative. It’s located on a secluded area of Playa Mujeres and is pretty much surrounded by lush vegetation as the nearby area hasn’t been developed as of yet. We had a one bedroom suite with two balconies, a master bedroom (king size bed) with a master bathroom with shower and tub. The suite also had a living room with a murphy bed (Queen size), a full sized kitchen, a dining area and another full size bathroom. The accommodations were great and we really enjoyed our time there. The resort also had a spa which unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to check out so I can’t comment on that. The resort is fairly new as it was built in 2010 and has 5 restaurants, 2 snack bars, market, coffee shop & deli, and 5 swimming pools, one of which is only for elite members of the resort. Our suite had an amazing view since we were right in the middle of the resort on a high floor and we could see the whole resort from our balconies. The food we ate at the resort was really good as well. The resort also has the option of being all inclusive but we didn’t get that option. We don’t really believe in all inclusive because we feel that it limits you too much and you’re technically forced to eat there since if you eat somewhere else, you’ll spend more money. It also doesn’t make sense to us because if you divide the amount they’re charging you for the package, you’d actually be spending less if you ate outside of the resort. We also like to explore when we’re on vacation and that includes eating at different restaurants outside of the resort. That, added to the fact that we don’t spend that much time at resorts because we’re usually exploring the city, the all inclusive option for us is more of a waste of money. But, if you like having that option, this resort offers it. Overall, it’s a great resort and recommended on your next stay when in Cancun! Check out the pictures from our stay there.

En nuestra última visita a Cancún, nos hospedamos en el Villa del Palmar Cancún Beach Resort & Spa que se encuentra en Playa Mujeres. El resort es muy bonito pero cabe recalcar que queda como a 25 minutos de la zona turística de Cancún, así que tendrás que pagar por un taxi cada vez que quieras salir hacia esa área. Si eso no es problema, entonces este resort es una buena opción. El resort se encuentra ubicado en una zona aislada de Playa Mujeres ya que está prácticamente rodeado por mucha vegetación ya que los alrededores no han sido desarrollados todavía. Durante nuestra estadía nos hospedamos en una suite de un dormitorio con dos balcones, un dormitorio principal (cama King size) con un baño que cuenta con ducha y bañera. La suite también tenía una sala con una cama murphy (Queen size), una cocina, un comedor y otro baño con ducha. La suite también tenía una vista espectacular ya que podíamos ver el resort completo desde nuestros balcones. ¡La comida también estaba riquísima! De verdad que nos encantó y realmente disfrutamos nuestra estadía ahí. El resort también tiene un spa que, desafortunadamente, no tuve la oportunidad de usar así que no puedo dar mi opinión sobre eso. El resort es relativamente nuevo, ya que fue construido en el 2010 y cuenta con 5 restaurantes, 2 bares, mercado, cafetería & deli, y 5 piscinas, una de las cuales es sólo para los miembros élite del resort. El resort también cuenta con la opción de ser todo incluido (all inclusive), aunque nosotros no lo obtuvimos ya que en realidad no le vemos el punto ya que no pasamos tanto tiempo en el resort porque casi siempre estamos explorando la ciudad y eso incluye el comer fuera del resort. Pero, si te gusta tener esa opción, este resort lo ofrece. En general, es un gran resort y se los recomiendo para su próxima estancia en Cancún. ¡Aquí unas fotos de nuestra estadía ahí!
