Hey, guys! In this post, I wanted to revisit and update my last post about my nighttime beauty/skin care routine because some of the products I use have changed and I wanted to add my morning routine as well. Let me know if you use any of these products as well and what your thoughts on them are. Let’s get started!
~MORNING~
After brushing my teeth and rinsing my face to remove my night creams, I use the bliss Daily Detoxifying Facial Toner all over my face and neck. I apply it with the Up & Up Cotton Ovals dual sided from Target.
After applying the toner, I apply the Garnier Skin Care Skin Renew Dark Spot Corrector. This product is amazing! It gives your face a glow and fades away the dark spots left by acne marks or any other dark spots in general. A full review will be up on the blog soon. I like applying this cream prior to my makeup because it’s lightweight and dries quickly so it doesn’t rub off or make my makeup cakey once I apply it.
I then proceed to apply my primer and makeup (which contains SPF) for the day and I’m done. For the most part, my morning routine is much less time-consuming than my nighttime, which is ideal because I don’t have much time in the morning since I’m usually in a hurry to get to work.
~NIGHTTIME~
After I apply my face creams, I apply some Dove Extra Dry Cream Oil Body Lotion to my hands (and feet). I sometimes also apply some cuticle oil prior to applying the lotion. I then finish my whole routine with some Carmex Everyday Protecting Lip Balm Stick SPF 15-Strawberry on my lips.
The whole process may seem tedious and long, but I assure you it can be done in a few minutes. As women and as we grow older, we need to take care of our skin to avoid premature aging and this routine so far has worked great for me. I have yet to have any wrinkles as I’ve been keeping them at bay with this routine since I was about 18 years old. Of course, the products have changed as my skin needs have changed. The key to premature aging is to take care of your skin. Of course, my oily/combination skin is partly responsible for this as oily skin aids in helping avoid premature aging. Oily skin is something I’ve come to love as I get older since I learned that!
For most moms out there, it’s understandable that you will be so exhausted at the end of the night that the last thing you want to do is go through this whole routine, but remember that for many of you this might be the only time you have to actually pamper yourself, so indulge in it.
Also remember to NEVER, and I mean NEVER, go to sleep with makeup on no matter how tired you are. That’s when those makeup remover wipes come in handy. It won’t take all of the makeup off because there will always be some residue that will stay until you throughly cleanse your skin, but at least most of it will come off.
For the most part, these items are available at your local drugstore chains so there’s no need to spend a lot of money. Some are a little more on the pricey side but they’re totally worth it, which is why I’m recommending them. I have used them for several months and can highly recommend them. Note that this post is NOT sponsored so these are actually products I highly recommend and do love, although you know I won’t recommend a product anyway if I don’t like it, whether it is sponsored or not.
I recommend all of these steps as well as lots of water which helps in making your skin look radiant. I also recommend getting a facial every month or at least every 3 months, but that is just an added bonus. If you can’t afford facials, these steps should suffice.
Hope this helps you in your skin care routine. If you have any questions, let me know in the comments below. What’s your skin care routine like? I’d also love to know!
