A few weeks ago I headed to Los Angeles invited by Chevy as part of a media trip where we were to arrive in LA and drive aboard the Chevy Traverse to the Palm Springs area which is a little less than 2 hours away. Not only was I excited about heading home to LA since I had decided to extend my trip to visit with family, but also because I love working with the people at Chevy. I knew I was in for a fun trip. I decided to document the trip on video to make it fun to watch, but here’s a recap as well.
After being picked up at the airport, I checked into the Sunset Marquis Hotelclose to the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood. After some down time, that night we had dinner in West Hollywood and hit the sack right after a few drinks at the hotel bar since we needed to leave early the next day.
The next morning after breakfast and learning a little more about Chevrolet and our trip, we were assigned our vehicle and off we went to Palm Springs for a day full of activities. The vehicle we got was the Chevy Traverse which looks huge but honestly, I drove the first part of the trip and it doesn’t feel like you’re driving such a big SUV. The space inside is amazing! Like, it has 2 seats plus an extra row and the trunk! Once you’re inside, it looks so spacious and inviting that it’s really just asking for a road trip. Not gonna lie, I wish we would have taken a longer one to enjoy it on the road even more! Another thing I loved is that it’s not much of a gas guzzler or as much as you would expect an SUV of this size to be. That’s something very important when it comes to a road trip. Something else that I loved were all of the outlets and USB ports available to charge your electronics with. I also loved the WiFi in it! Yes, you can connect your electronics to the vehicle’s WiFi! Nowadays we know how important all of this is for a road trip so with just that this SUV won me over. Check out some of the features in the pics below.
Once we arrived, we were directed to follow some green arrows. Why? Well, because we were headed to the Pink Satellite Studios. The location is private and not disclosed at all unless you rent out the house and recording studio. The Pink Satellite Studios are located in the Joshua Tree Desert and is a recording studio plus a fully furnished house you can rent. Won’t go too much into it because I’m planning a separate post on that because there’s so much to share on it! While there, we got a tour of the house and recording studio, got to meet and chat with the owners and were catered to a taco lunch. Here are just a few pics as since I stated before, I will do a separate post on it.
After our time at the studio and house, we ventured off to explore the area, and then checked into our hotel: Pioneertown Motel. Another place that’s literally in the middle of nowhere in the California desert. I won’t go too much into that either because I have another post prepared for that as well. We had dinner that night at a really cool place called Pappy & Harriet’s and ended an amazing night with the most delicious food ever!
The next day we all left after an amazing and exciting trip. Everyone headed to the airport to fly back to their destinations, but I got to keep the Chevy Traverse for a few more days while I drove back to LA and spent the next few days with my family. Here’s a video recap of the trip. Stay tuned for more posts soon!
Thank you to Chevy for the fun and informative media trip to Los Angeles and Palm Springs!!!
