Hey, guys! Last week I was invited to cover the book signing and chat event of Puerto Rican actress and TV host, Giselle Blondet. Giselle was visiting Los Angeles to promote her newly launched book, “Tengo 50… ¿Y qué?”, and I was very much looking forward to meeting her because she’s also (just like Cristina) someone I grew up watching in telenovelas and in “Despierta America”. The event was held at Libreria Martinez Books & Art Gallery in Santa Ana (same place where Cristina Saralegui’s book signing took place).
Once I arrived, I was escorted to the back room of the library where the press and some friends were awaiting Giselle’s arrival. They had some wine, water and hors d’oeuvres for us. Giselle later arrived and after resting for a few minutes, she came back into the room and chatted with us for a little bit. She mentioned that she was very happy to be there even though she was a little tired because she had arrived earlier that day from Miami. She was also in town for Univision’s TeletonUSA event which would take place that weekend as well. She was very nice and made sure to thank everyone for making the trip out there, she also thanked the musicians that were there; she made sure she complimented them. They were playing some jazz music beautifully.
Once we were done in there, she headed into the library for some interviews and then started the chat. She talked about how the idea for her book came about and how much she wanted to motivate and inspire woman of all ages to enjoy and live their lives no matter what their age is. She mentioned that we shouldn’t let our age control our minds when it comes to fulfilling or going after our dreams. The point that really got to me and stayed with me was that everything happens in our lives at the correct timing. She mentioned how now that she’s 50 is when she is starting to see some of her dreams come to fruition that she thought never would because she thought they would only happen in her 20s or 30s. She also read a few excerpts of her book and made time for questions from the fans. It was a great motivational intimate chat with all of the women and even some men that made it out there. She later started the book signing but before that, she was gifted a beautiful t-shirt and a pair of earrings by the library.
She is very nice and to me especially, was very nice and thanked me for making it out there to support her. She even asked me if I would be making it to the TeletonUSA event to see me again. Unfortunately, I told her I wouldn’t be able to make it but thanked her for everything. She is beautiful on the outside and even more beautiful on the inside. She looks fabulous for her age! I wanna look like her when I’m 50! Here are some of the pictures I took at the event.
A big thank you to Giselle Blondet, her team, as well as the staff of the library for the VIP treatment I received while covering the event; looking forward to seeing you all again soon! Hope you enjoyed the pictures! Make sure you pick up your copy and let me know what you think!
