Eyelash extensions for the Summer

Who doesn’t want full and long lashes without having to apply mascara every day? It’s (almost) every woman’s dream, which is why when I was contacted by Amazing Lash Studio in Coral Gables here in Miami to try out their eyelash extensions, I couldn’t resist.

While I’ve never been one to complain about my eyelashes because with a little help from mascara, they always look great, I’m always up for finding ways to cut my makeup time even if by a few minutes. After making my appointment, I was excited to see how they would turn out. I made my appointment prior to my trip to Puerto Rico so I could show them off while on vacation 😉

After I arrived at their new Coral Gables location, I was escorted to a room where my eyelashes would be applied. Prior to beginning, I got to choose what kind of eyelash look I wanted: Gorgeous, Natural, Sexy or Cute. I went with Natural since I have a good amount of lashes already and just wanted them to look natural but fuller. The process was easy and relaxing (I might have taken a nap lol), however, it can be a long one with mine taking about 2 hours to apply. Reason for this is because the eyelashes are applied individually to each eyelash you have. Therefore, the more eyelashes you have, the longer the process will be. Apparently, I had a lot of eyelashes lol. The process isn’t painful either which is one of the things I was concerned about.

After they were applied, I took a look at them and immediately loved how natural and full they looked; which is exactly what I wanted! The picture below is the picture I took immediately after and posted on my Snapchat (beckyboricua) and Instagram.

The picture below was taken 4 weeks after I got the eyelash extensions and they’re still going strong! Yes, a few eyelashes have fallen off here and there but for the most part, they’re all still attached.

While this first set for me was compliments of the salon, as a new customer, you can get a new set of eyelash extensions for $79.99 (reg. price is $250). The eyelashes last about 3-4 weeks depending on the care you give them and on your natural eyelashes themselves. After that, you can either wait for them to all fall off by themselves or go into the salon so they can remove them for you. Or, you also have the option of getting refills once they start to fall off. Amazing Lash Studio also offers a monthly membership service which for a monthly fee, you get one eyelash refill a month plus discounts to additional services.

While I absolutely loved my eyelashes, they do require maintenance such as brushing them twice daily as well as cleaning them with antibacterial soap and making sure not to wet them or at least get them soaked in water which makes it a little complicated to wash your face. However, in exchange, you get beautiful eyelashes that save you time in your makeup routine since you don’t need to apply mascara. It’s also good because if you’re in a hurry, you can run out the door with just lipstick and you’ll look made up since the lashes complete your look. The eyelashes are applied so well that you don’t feel them at all (which was another concern of mine)! Eyelash extensions are the best thing ever and I totally recommend them, even if you only do it once! Try it at least for the Summer; I know you’re gonna love them as much as I love mine! As for me, I’m still enjoying my eyelash extensions and strongly considering the membership so I can go back for a refill!
