I was recently invited along with other influencers and media to be a part of a 3 day event with Chevrolet here in Miami. The event was for us to discover the music, art, food, and culture of Miami all while test driving the 2017 Chevy Malibu Hybrid.
On the first day we made it to the EAST Miami hotel here in Brickell, checked-in, and got ready for the first event that night which was dinner and cocktails at Ball & Chain in the well known area of Little Havana. That night we discovered the music and food of Miami as we listened and danced to a Cuban group that played Cuban music all while we ate Cuban food.
The following day would be our busiest day. We started off with breakfast at the hotel while learning some of the facts of the new 2017 Chevy Malibu Hybrid. We would then take off on a route that would let us test drive the vehicles as well as all of the features it comes with.
I loved the interactive touchscreen on the 2017 Chevy Malibu Hybrid. I also loved how the navigation system besides displaying itself in the usual place, also displays right in front of you where your odometer is located at so you don’t even have to turn your eyes to the right. That way you don’t take your eyes off the road!
The first leg of our route would take us to the Robert is Here Fruit Stand in Homestead. There, we had a chance to taste some of their fruits and milkshakes they’re famous for; a classic in Miami!
After enjoying the fruits and milkshakes as well as buying some for ourselves to take home, we proceeded to our next stop along the route which was Key Largo.
From there we made our way back to Little Havana for lunch at Old’s Havana Cuban Bar & Cocina.
On our way out, we were visited by police officers riding horses!! We couldn’t resist taking pictures with them.
It was then time to take off to Little Haiti! While there, we visited Sweat Records Miami, another classic in Miami because the store carries actual records! Remember those?!
While there, we caught a performance by Elastic Bond whose music can be described as Sweet Latin Soul.
After enjoying a wonderful performance, we headed back to the hotel to get ready for dinner that night. Dinner would be at Wynwood Kitchen & Bar located in Wynwood, the Arts District of Miami.
After dinner we headed to Coyo Taco which also has a part of the restaurant which doubles as a club! There, we got to dance the night away to Mr. Pauer‘s DJing! Mr. Pauer is a Latin Grammy® Nominee Artist, and Creator of ELECTROPICO®! We had such a great time!
By the end of the night we were exhausted from a full but fun day and night so it was back to the hotel. The next morning we checked out of the hotel with a goodie bag from Chevrolet with items that perfectly encompassed the music, art, food, and culture of Miami.
Now for the car! The car ran perfectly smooth and I loved driving it. It’s great on gas; 49 mph/city and 43 mph/highway. One of the many features that I loved about it was the Teen Driver feature which is standard. This feature allows parents to set controls, review driving habits and encourage safe driving. OnStar 4G LTE with Wi-Fi hotspot is standard and wireless phone charging is also available. In this digital era, these features are everything! Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility is also standard. Great for music lovers like myself! I tested out the Apple CarPlay while I drove the vehicle and loved it! Another feature that is standard is the rear-vision camera! There is also a Driver Confidence Package available which includes City-Speed Front Automatic Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, IntelliBeam automatic high-beam control, Front and Rear Park Assist, Side Blind Zone Alert with Lane Change Alert, Lane Keep Assist, Following Distance Indicator, Forward Collision Alert and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. The vehicle starts at $21,680 which is a great price for the vehicle it is, how well it performs, how safe it is, and how sleek it looks. I absolutely loved it!
