Welcome to a new Cafecito con Becky post! Happy to have you back!
Last week was supposed to be a slow one in regards to events, but if you’ve been following along for a while now, you know that that always changes at the last minute. Last week wasn’t an exception.
A few days prior to Monday, I received a personal invite to attend the meeting the Governor of Puerto Rico, Ricardo Roselló would be having with some media during his visit to Miami. I was honored and immediately said yes. Politics and partisanship aside, any time you have the privilege of being invited to meet with someone in such an important position, it is truly an honor which is why I said yes. I’m not one to get into politics on a public forum but I will say that even though we might not align in our political views in regards to the island, in the end, we both want what’s best for the island which is why I attended the meeting. Although I wasn’t born on the island, and am only half Puerto Rican (my dad is Mexican), if you know me personally you know that I’m very Puerto Rican and everything about me is very Puerto Rican. I’m very very proud of being Puerto Rican and am very aware of the situation in the island both in the political and economical sense, and I would like to help in any way I can even if it only means attending a meeting with the Governor and representing my people from the island. Here’s an article in Spanish about the meeting with the media the Governor had and below a few pictures from that meeting. Gracias al Partido Demócrata Hispano de la Florida y a Rose Mary Santana (Diáspora Dominicana y Acento) por la invitación.
On Thursday I headed to the Acqualina Resort & Spa in Sunny Isles for a full day of pampering. I’m not going to share too much in this post because I plan on making a separate post for it, but I’ll share some pictures with you. It was a much needed day of relaxation and pampering along with fellow influencers.
On Friday I spent the day with my friend Dawn whom I’ve mentioned in the past here. She travels a lot for work so the time she’s in Miami is limited so we take advantage when she is here. We went shopping and then watched Netflix’s Ingobernable, the series with Kate del Castillo and we loved it! It’s so good and Kate is so good! It’s an amazing production and cast so make sure to check it out!
On Saturday I made it out to People en Español’s “Poderosas ¡LIVE!” Event and enjoyed a great day with motivational and inspirational stories by great panelists. I also had access to the backstage area and was able to chat with a few of the panelists and interview some others. Here are a few pictures. The interviews will be up on my YouTube channel soon.
Lastly, yesterday I headed to the Miami-Dade Youth Fair along with a few influencers to enjoy a day of fun rides, shows and food!
This week I only have one event scheduled later this week but make sure to follow along on my social media and come back next week for your weekly dose of Cafecito con Becky!
Me encantó esta semana mi Becky, and yessssss, you are becoming a public figure thanks to you hard work and straight personality! Miss you my friend.
