Hola and welcome to a new week and another edition of “Cafecito con Becky”!
What a week it was last week! Between working, prepping for Hurricane Matthew, flying to Orlando, and then coming back to Miami, it was a busy week. Oy vey!
Monday through Wednesday, I kept an eye out monitoring Hurricane Matthew‘s trajectory to prepare for it. As most of you know, I’m an LA girl which means I’m an earthquake girl. I know everything about earthquakes and that’s what I’m used to so being in the path of a hurricane as massive as the one that was approaching us scared me a little because I didn’t know what to expect. My mom is from Puerto Rico so she’s used to them. She was telling me what to do and how to prepare for it but once it looked like it was gonna hit us hard; I started to worry about being here alone possibly without electricity for days and not being able to leave my apartment. That’s when I knew I had to leave the city. I decided to go up north to Orlando to stay with family while we waited it out. After prepping for it, I purchased a ticket to Orlando on Wednesday and flew out that same night since the hurricane was set to hit on Thursday.
But before leaving to Orlando, on Tuesday I had brunch with my dear friend Vanessa. She recently moved from New York to Miami so we had brunch to chat it up a little.
I arrived in Orlando Wednesday night. On Thursday I had some work to finish and wanted to take advantage before we lost power. Friday and Saturday I decided to take the day off and just enjoy the time with my family. We spent the days home since the hurricane was passing by. Thankfully, it didn’t hit as hard as expected. We just had rain and winds.
On Saturday, I did make it to the taping of my uncle and cousin’s TV show where I had the opportunity to be interviewed. I’ll be sharing the interview once it’s up. That night we headed to the newly remodeled Disney Springs.
Early Sunday morning I headed back to Miami and pretty much decided to take advantage of the free time and rested some more. On Sunday night I headed to the Sin Bandera concert with my friend Ana Cristina. We really enjoyed the concert. A recap video will be on my YouTube channel this week!
Today I have an interview set with the girls from NBCUniverso‘s upcoming reality show, The Riveras, which centers on the lives of Jenni Rivera‘s children a few years after her passing. The interview will be up on my YouTube channel later this week as well. This week I also have a few other events lined up that I’ll be sharing with you next week! But stay tuned to the blog this week because I will have several important posts!
¡Hasta la próxima!
