For the last few years I’ve made it a tradition to take a trip for my birthday. Last year when I was still living in Miami, I wasn’t able to make it back to Los Angeles for my birthday or the Holidays so my mom visited me and we headed to Orlando for my birthday. We visited the Disney parks among other things to celebrate my birthday. The year before that, I did make it back to LA and headed to San Diego with my best friend for a birthday celebration since our birthdays fall a week apart in the same month of December. Which is why I knew this year, we had to continue the tradition, especially since I’m now back in LA.
Check out the wheels in this edition of the Traverse! How fancy does that look?! Loving the all black look! She’s a real beauty!
This year we decided for San Francisco and Napa since it had been several years since we last visited both places together. My sister decided to join us, and Chevrolet was nice enough to loan us a vehicle for the road trip. For the most part, we tend to fly to San Francisco but since we had the Chevy Traverse at our disposal for the week, we decided to make a road trip out of it and stop along the way.
Because our drive up north happened to coincide with a rain storm we were having, we opted to make the stops on our way back down a few days later. Even though it was raining like crazy; it was an actual storm which is rare in LA, we always felt safe since we were riding in the Traverse. Not only is it super safe, but a decent size and height which made for easy passing through puddles. Once we hit Central California, the rain went away and out came the sun.
We arrived later that night and headed to Pier 39 to walk around and catch a bite to eat.
The next day, we spent it in Napa. We stayed in San Francisco and drove to Napa which is about 1 1/2 hours north of San Francisco. While there, we visited two wineries and drove through the beautiful streets of Napa.
The next day we spent the day in San Francisco visiting places like Union Square, the Three Painted Ladies (remember them from Full House?), the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman’s Wharf, and local coffee shops. Since it was during the Holidays, the whole city, especially Union Square was all decked out for Christmas, which made it look even prettier. Union Square always tends to remind me of New York, and with the holiday decor even more.
Later that night we went to dinner to celebrate our birthdays.
On our way back down to Los Angeles, we stopped along Half Moon Bay, Monterey and Carmel, and although we tried to stop in Big Sur, we didn’t make it in time before it got dark so we passed on by, but hope to be back visiting soon.
This trip reminded me of the beauty of California that I had missed so much while in Miami. I wish we had more time to explore more places along the way and maybe even stay a night or two, but the good thing is we can always go back.
The Chevy Traverse proved to be the perfect SUV for our trip since it’s so roomy and spacious. There were 3 of us traveling plus our luggage, which if you follow me on social media, you saw in my stories that we did not pack lightly (we never do) so all our luggage fit perfectly.
I had the opportunity of driving this SUV earlier this year when I traveled to Palm Springs with Chevy and I loved how roomy it is. It’s a perfect vehicle for road trips because besides having two seats in the back that actually recline, the SUV also has a third row! Which means you can fit all your friends in there, or your family members, whoever you chose to take on the trip because it has a seating capacity of up to 8 (depending on the model)!
Some of the specs of the Chevrolet Traverse include:
NHTSA 5-STAR OVERALL VEHICLE SCORE FOR SAFETY
PARENTS AND EDMUNDS – 10 BEST FAMILY CARS OF 2018
COMFORTABLE SEATING FOR UP TO 8
HANDS-FREE LIFTGATE
FORWARD COLLISION ALERT
FRONT PEDESTRIAN BRAKING
FORWARD AUTOMATIC BRAKING
REAR VISION CAMERA
REAR PARK ASSIST
SURROUND VISION
APPLE CAR PLAY

It was a great birthday trip and the Chevy Traverse just made the experience much more fancier. I like to treat myself for my birthday which is why I decided to make these birthday trips a tradition, and the fact that I had a beautiful SUV like the Traverse took the trip to a whole other level.
Love-the car & Napa! Can’t wait to return. Also planning a road trip from San Diego to San Francisco maybe for October with stops along away. Now I know which car to rent. Glad you enjoyed your birthday. U closed 2018 on a great note. xoxo
Yes! Thank you!
