It’s been a year already and I still can’t believe it. When I first had the idea to start this blog, I somewhat had an idea of what I wanted. The ideas started coming left and right and along with it, the concept of my blog shifted a little. A year later, I can now say I truly know what I want for this blog and I’m working very hard towards reaching that goal. The journey hasn’t been easy because as you all know, I work a full-time job as well, so when I get home, I’m already mentally exhausted. Keeping a blog requires mental creativity; I’m putting to use all of the techniques I learned in college so it leaves me even more mentally exhausted. Keeping a blog also requires you to come up with ideas, put them into words that will convey to all readers, and let’s not mention, the proof reading. It seriously sometimes is as if I were writing a paper in college. Don’t get me wrong. I love writing, I love blogging and I love the creative process, but it is time consuming. But I do it because I love it and because it’s my passion; I don’t see it as work.
During this year, the blog has gained notoriety as well as a few collaborations with well-known brands, and for that I am thankful. During this year I was able to team up with Yoplait, Kleenex, Fresh & Easy, Bare Minerals, Olay, Sally Hansen, NovaWhite, and Poshinality. I was also featured either personally or the blog itself on Latina.com, VeraWang.com, Glamour Magazine’s Instagram, and IGERSPR Instagram. I also had the chance to cover several Latin entertainment events as well as Yandel’s US and PR tour. All in all, I’m very grateful for how far the blog has come in only a year, but I’m very excited to see where it will go from here. My dreams for it are huge and I work towards them every day. I thank ALL of you for your support in this first year and I hope that you have enjoyed the journey with me thus far.
With that said, I’m also very excited to announce that Glam.com and Glam en Español have reached out to me and we will be collaborating together! They will be helping me grow this blog and for that I am very thankful. I will be giving you guys more information as it comes along, but for now, I just wanted to share the news with you guys! I’m very excited for this new year and for this new collaboration!
I also wanted to announce that I will be doing a GIVEAWAY!! That will be announced in another post shortly and it will be a blogiversary/birthday/Christmas GIVEAWAY!!! All three events are within weeks of each other so I decided to do one giveaway for all of them. Once I have it ready, I will announce it so you can enter for a chance to win!!
Once again, I THANK ALL OF YOU from the bottom of my heart for your constant and continued support. All of my hard work and late nights make it all worth it when I see your support and when I see myself one step closer to my dreams.
To celebrate my 1st year blogiversary, I went to dinner with some friends and even had a cake! We had a great time talking about my blog and the ideas I have for it. We had dinner at Lala’s Argentine Grill (highly recommended, by the way-review coming soon!), had cake and cake pops from Merely Sweets and ended the night with coffee at my favorite café, Urth Caffé.
