With travel season in full swing because it’s Summer, I wanted to share with you what I have in my carry-on bag in case you’re planning a trip soon. I recently got back from Cancun and Puerto Rico and took the same bag on each trip. As a matter of fact since I bought the bag earlier this year, I’ve taken it on every flight I’ve had this year. I used to carry my regular purse and a small luggage as my carry-on but it made it difficult because the luggage would always have to go on the overhead compartment so anytime I needed something from inside, I would have to get up and look for it. I eventually decided to get a big carry-on bag and put everything in there so it would be accessible anytime during the flight. I found the perfect bag at Target and have been using it ever since. Below, I share what’s inside my bag.

What's in my carry-on bag

Carry-on bag: Sam & Libby weekender handbag. I love this bag because it’s big and fits a lot of stuff but is super chic, too. It’s also black so it matches with everything.

Pen: because you never know when you can need one.

Sunglasses and case: Case purchased at Disneyland in California

Disinfecting wipes: I take a travel size of the Clorox Disinfecting Wipes On The Go Fresh Scent because I’m super anal about cleanliness so when I get to my seat on the plane, I use these wipes to disinfect the tray, the arm rests, the seat belt latch, the head rest of the seat (if it’s not fabric), as well as the window area since I’ll be resting my head or pillow there as well (of course this only applies if I sit in a window seat).

Wipes: I also carry a travel size of the Charmin To Go Freshmates Flushable Wipes in case I want to freshen up in the bathroom before landing.

Makeup bag and makeup: I only carry the essentials so I can touch up my makeup before landing. The makeup I take for the trip goes in my luggage.

Cell phone fully charged: I have the iPhone 6s Plus 64 GB in Gold

Wallet: For trips, I change my bulkier everyday wallet to a slimmer wallet with only the necessities inside. I purchased this gold wallet from Target.

Camera and memory cards: Even though I take the majority of my pictures on my iPhone, I always like to take my camera to capture certain images that my phone can’t such as zoomed images since the camera has a better zoom lens.

Gum: because you can always use gum especially if the takeoff and landing affects you.

Hand sanitizer: I like this hand sanitizer from Bath & Body Works because it’s so compact and smells great.

Business card holder and business cards: Because you should always be prepared. You don’t know when you’ll need to pop out your business card, right? I purchased this one from The Container Store (Poppin Metallic Card Case in gold).

Lens cleansing wipes: Just as anal as I am about cleanliness I am about clean lenses. I love these Bausch + Lomb Sight Savers that I purchase at Walmart. I buy the box and leave several of these all over my apartment, in purses and in my car. I use them all the time for my iPhone, iPad, camera, and glasses/sunglasses. One of my pet peeves is dirty lenses and screens so I use these all the time.

Lotion: I like this lotion by eos because it’s very compact and smells great.

Microfiber cloth: I also use this for my iPhone, iPad, camera, and glasses/sunglasses.

iPad and case: I purchased this Dabney Lee case at Target and it came with a matching stylus.

Chargers, extra batteries and earphones/headphones: I carry my chargers, extra batteries and their chargers, as well as earphones or headphones in a cute bag made just for that. The bag was given to me by my sister so I don’t know where she purchased it. When it’s a longer flight, I carry my headphones instead since they’re noise canceling, but since these last two trips were relatively short flights, I took my earphones instead. As you can see I’m a little OCD with organization so I purchased these cord wraps from Target to wrap all my cords and chargers to keep them organized so they don’t tangle up. I couldn’t find them on their website so I couldn’t link them up, but you can find them in the register area or in the Electronics Department of your local Target.

NOT PICTURED:

Travel blankie & Travel pillow: I always take a travel blankie because I tend to always get cold on flights as well as a travel pillow. I don’t really like those that go around your neck since I find that a regular shaped pillow is much more comfortable. Of course, I don’t take a huge pillow, I take a travel sized pillow that’s shaped like a regular pillow. They’re not included in the pic because I remembered to add them at the last minute 😉 The pillow and case I purchased at Walmart and I can’t remember where I purchased my travel blankie but you can find it pretty much anywhere where they sell travel accessories. Also not pictured is the eye mask I tend to take on long flights since I usually sleep on long flights and these block out the light completely. I purchased my eye mask at Ulta.
