Hey, guys! Here is my second post about my trip to Puerto Rico. You can read the first post here.

In this post, I want to share with you some pictures from la isla. That’s a term we Puerto Ricans use when traveling outside of the San Juan metropolitan area. We visited Ponce and Salinas with my uncle and his wife who live in Puerto Rico and on another day, we visited Lares and Dorado with my mom’s childhood friends who also live in Puerto Rico.

In Ponce, we visited La Guancha and ate some frituras there. We then made our way to Plaza las Delicias where the well-known Parque de Bombas is located at. Parque de Bombas is a red and black historic firehouse building (which, by the way, once I got back to LA realized I never took a full picture of). The building housed the city’s main and Puerto Rico’s first ever fire station for many years; it is now a museum. We also passed by el Castillo Serrallés and the Cruceta del Vigía to catch some views of Ponce.

On our way back to San Juan, we stopped by Salinas at Ladi’s Place, which is a seafood restaurant on the beach that we visit every time we’re in Puerto Rico; we’ve been going for years! Highly recommended! While there, we caught a beautiful sunset! I couldn’t stop taking pictures of it!

Another day during our stay, we went to Lares and Dorado with my mom’s childhood friends. In Lares, we stopped by Kiosko Los Gorditos and ate some alcapurrias; the best I’ve ever tasted so far! We then stopped by Dorado and caught up with my cousin and her husband who live there. After chatting for awhile, we headed back to San Juan.
