Your birthday is a great excuse to be selfish and treat yourself, and while a vacation isn’t always feasible, a staycation almost always is. Which is why for my birthday recently I decided to make my way to Orlando for a staycation and brought my mom along with me since she was in town from LA for the holidays. Remember my birthday is in December 😉

My friends at GMC were kind enough to loan me a 2018 GMC Terrain SLT for my road trip! I must say that an SUV is always the best way to do a road trip because it’s so comfy, and this one did not disappoint! I loved it!

I decided to treat myself with a stay at the Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive because I’ve stayed there before and have always had such a great experience. This time was not the exception. They knew I would be celebrating my birthday while there so they had a special birthday welcome prepared for me when I got to my room! I already felt so spoiled!

Later that night I headed to Mango’s Tropical Cafe for dinner and a show. The resort was conveniently located across the street from Mango’s so we were there within minutes. We had such a great time! The dinner was delicious and the show had some great performances. What an entertaining night! Definitely a must see next time you’re in Orlando. Thank you Mango’s for a being a part of my birthday celebration!

The next day was my actual birthday (December 20) so of course, being in Orlando meant I had to celebrate at the Disney Parks! After breakfast, we headed to Magic Kingdom to celebrate my birthday because you’re never too old for Disney. In true Disney form, it was a magical day! Not only because I celebrated my birthday but because we were in the Holiday Season and there isn’t a time in the year when I love the Parks more than when they’re decorated for Christmas. You have to admit that it makes the Parks even more magical; like a true Wonderland! Thank you Disney for treating me to such a fun filled day!

The next day before we headed back to Miami, we headed in our GMC Terrain to my favorite area in Orlando, Celebration. Every time I visit, I imagine I’m going to live there one day. It’s just so magical and so Disney (cause it was a city created by Disney). Who knows, maybe one day I will 😉

A BIG THANK YOU to GMC for the loaner for our road trip. I really loved how spacious and how comfy it is, and also how it’s not a gas guzzler like other SUVs. It’s one that I’d love to consider when my lease is up. I’ve been looking for another SUV to lease and this one is at the top of my list. Here are a few more pics from our loaner. Honestly, I loved it so much, I didn’t want to let it go! Thank you, GMC!!!

Another BIG THANK YOU to Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive for our hosted stay, Mango’s Tropical Cafe for our complimentary dinner and show, and Walt Disney World for our day passes to the Parks which made for an extra special birthday celebration!

If you’re in Miami or surrounding cities, consider a staycation in Orlando for your next birthday. It’s much less expensive than a vacation but far enough away to make you feel like you are. Here’s to hoping you treat yourself on your next birthday!

P.S. If you decide to head there now, book your stay at Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive with a special 30% off their best available rate via this link!!!
