‘Spare Parts’ movie private screening
Hey, guys! I was invited to attend a private screening of the movie Spare Parts with fellow bloggers today and wanted to share a little bit about it with you. I had an idea of what the movie was about when I arrived, but I had no idea I would love it so much.
Prior to the screening, they offered us some café and pan dulce from La Monarca Bakery, which was delicious! We later watched the movie and when it ended, but prior to us leaving, Carlos and Alexa PeñaVega (they come out in the movie) surprised us by visiting us at the screening! They talked a little about how it was filming the movie, how it was meeting with the people on which the movie is based on and how they really want to create a change, with this movie being a first of many in its nature. All in all, they are wonderful people, so down to earth and very, very nice. They took pictures left and right with all of us there.
The movie is truly an inspirational film that makes you want to go out into the world and create a change. The movie shows that when you truly want something and go after your dreams, no matter what the obstacles may be, you can achieve it. I laughed and I cried, so make sure to take some tissues! It’s a movie that I highly recommend and really hope you take the time to watch. Spare Parts opens in theaters on January 16, 2015.
SPARE PARTS is a true life story about four Latino high school students who form a robotics club under the leadership of their school’s newest teacher. With no experience, $800, used car parts and a dream, this rag tag team goes up against the country’s reigning robotics champion, MIT. On their journey, they learn not only how to build a robot- they learn to build a bond that will last a lifetime.
Spare Parts stars George Lopez, Jamie Lee Curtis, Esai Morales, Carlos PeñaVega, Alexa PeñaVega, Marisa Tomei, Alessandra Rosaldo among others.
