I recently shared my updated nighttime skincare routine on Snapchat and decided I should share it here too in case you didn’t watch it. Please note that some of these products have been gifted to me by the brands but I am only recommending them because I actually use them and really like them. Let’s get started!

skincare-routine-1

STEP 1: After removing my makeup with makeup remover wipes, I use this Bioderma make-up removing micelle solution for sensitive skin. If you think you’ve cleansed your face after removing your makeup or even washing it, wait until you use this. It really removes all the makeup and dirt left on your skin even after washing. It’s super gentle and is great for cleansing the skin without drying it. Absolutely love it. I apply it with a cotton round and use it on my neck, too.

STEP 2: I then apply the Clinique even better clinical dark spot corrector & optimizer. I have some dark spots from blemishes and this stuff is amazing! In the short time that I’ve been using it, my dark spots have noticeably disappeared. I have tried several products for dark spots but this is hands down the best one!

STEP 3: Once the previous serum has dried and had a few seconds to penetrate my skin, I then apply the Bioderma Moisturising Concentrate for very dehydrated and sensitive skin. I never looked for or used creams that provided moisture because I mistakenly assumed that since I have oily skin, I don’t need it, but I was wrong. A dermatologist later told me that my skin also needs moisture which is why I also stopped washing my face every night. I was stripping my skin too much of the moisture which caused it to produce even more oil and eventually breakout more. Once I started cutting down on the washing and started using moisturizing products, my skin dramatically improved with pretty much no breakouts. This product is great and provides a surge of moisture to my skin.

STEP 4: Note that before continuing I make sure I wait a few seconds in between so the products have time to dry before applying the next product. I then apply the Aveeno absolutely ageless restorative night cream. The reason I add this one in to the routine is because the other products are geared for some of my specific needs and neither one of them is for wrinkles. Let’s face it, once you’re in your 30s you need better products to prevent wrinkles and fine lines. That’s why I use this one. It’s not too thick and has a great scent. I love how silky it feels on my skin. I also apply it to my neck. Don’t forget about your neck; it’s very important.

STEP 5: This next product is AMAZING! It has completely improved my skin! PCA skin R-OH retinol solutions intensive clarity 0.5% pure retinol night is a retinol night cream with salicylic acid. It’s meant to improve and clear your skin of blemishes/acne and at the same time prevents or improves the look of wrinkles. In a matter of like 2 weeks, I started noticing a difference. I tend to break out on my jawline so that’s where I started applying it only at night and the blemishes disappeared and I haven’t broken out since. I now apply it to that same area, just a light layer to prevent the blemishes from coming back. I also apply some to my forehead to prevent wrinkles. This product is like my holy grail! It is the priciest product on this list ($106) but it’s definitely worth it and lasts a very long time since you apply so little at a time. I’ve been using it for about 3-4 months and there’s still a lot left in the tube.

STEP 6: You can’t forget about the eye’s delicate area which is why I’m loving this one by Aveeno. I use the Aveeno absolutely ageless eye cream and I have seen improvement in the eye area. I have some fine lines under my eyes and this product has softened them and they aren’t that visible now. It’s part of the same line as my night cream.

STEP 7: For the last step, you can’t forget your lips either. I have tried several lip products but I always go back to this one; it’s my favorite. I use the Carmex classic lip balm cherry flavor.

skincare-routine-8Voilà! Now I’m ready for bed

skincare-routine-10

Next morning watch as your skin is looking much better and ready for makeup! Note that sunscreen is imperative in the morning since you’re using retinol and the Clinique product also contains an ingredient that requires sunscreen protection even if these products are used at nightBy the way, isn’t this like the best Snapchat filter?! Hope these products were helpful to you. Let me know if you try any one of these out!
