Yesterday I went to an event in South Beach which I will tell you more about in next week’s edition of Cafecito Con Becky, but for now want to talk about the makeup look I had for the event. I decided to write a post on it since I received a lot of compliments and some who asked what makeup I used and how I applied it. I shared the look on my social media accounts and also shared what makeup products I used but I decided to be a little more specific in this post, so here it is.

Years ago I used to wear more eye shadows but to simplify my makeup process, I stopped using it without really realizing it. I didn’t do it on purpose, I think I just stopped doing it to save time once, and just forgot after that. I decided yesterday to get back at it and use eye shadows to play around with my eyes and the effect I can create with them, and since I was wearing a green top yesterday, I went for a green eye shadow. But lets start with the face first. I’ll share step-by-step how I apply it and what products I use.

Step 1:

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm (after applying your moisturizer)

I use this as a primer.

.

Step 2:

Clinique Beyond Perfecting foundation + concealer 2 in 1 (9 neutral is my color)

I love the coverage of this foundation because it’s both foundation and concealer in one so it covers imperfections and dark spots perfectly. I apply it with a damp beauty sponge.

.

Step 3:

Essence all about matt! fixing compact powder

I like this powder to set my makeup and keep oily skin at bay. I also love that it’s pretty inexpensive. It’s white/translucent so it matches any skin tone but doesn’t make your skin look white under flash as other ones do. I apply it with a big face brush.

.

Step 4:

e.l.f. blush palette (light)

I use the shade labeled here as #1 as my bronzer, and the one labeled as #2 as my blush. I apply the bronzer first on my cheeks. If you suck in your cheeks, you apply it in the part that’s hollow. Then I apply the blush to the apple of my cheeks. I also apply bronzer all along my jawline and under my chin to help avoid the double chin look. You can apply bronzer in other places but it can take longer to do so so I just apply it in those two places. However, yesterday I also decided to add it to my nose  to make it look thinner. I grabbed a smaller brush and ran the bronzer along the sides of the bridge of my nose and the tip. Then I blended it with another brush so it wouldn’t look too harsh.

.

Step 5:

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz (dark brown)

Eyebrows are VERY important. They can make or break your whole makeup look which is why I pay so much attention to mine. I get compliments on them all the time, and honestly, I do love them. I get them threaded religiously every 2 weeks at a salon in order to keep the shape I love. You can thread with more weeks in between but I do it every two weeks, because if you wait longer, you risk having them change the shape when you go in. That’s why I don’t go past two weeks. I tried several products but hands down my favorite is this brow wiz. I use it to fill in my brows. I hope to soon bring you a tutorial on that. It is one of my highly requested videos, but I haven’t had the chance to record it. Will try to do so ASAP.

.

Step 6:

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on eye pencil (zero)

Because I was in somewhat of a hurry, instead of lining my eye lid, I decided to just line the inside of my eyes along the waterlines.

.

Step 7:

Urban Decay VICE eyeshadow palette (C-Note and Bones were the colors used)

I applied C-Note (#1 above) on my eyelids and Bones (#2 above) underneath my brow and all along my eyebrow bone and blended them towards the middle. Nothing too fancy as I didn’t have too much time.

.

Step 8:

Voluminous Superstar Red Carpet Black (flash reflecting black)

I love, love, love this mascara. There is another one I love by Clinique but this is a great cheaper alternative. There’s two sides to it with two brushes. One is a super volumizing primer which thickens the lashes, and the other one is a black fiber formula that extends the lashes. It creates amazing volume.

.

Step 9:

Clarins Lipliner Pencil (02-nude beige)

I line my lips with this pencil but also fill them in. I do so because filling them in makes the lipstick or lip gloss I apply on top of it last longer, plus it can also make your lips look fuller (if that’s what you’re looking for). I wasn’t really going for that, I mostly do it so my lip color lasts longer.

.

Step 10:

Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector (06)

I apply this gloss on top of the lined lips and I’m done! You can also apply a finishing spray to make your whole look last hours or all night but I didn’t need to since my event wasn’t going to last long.

.

Here’s a close up of the final look in natural light.

And for those of you wondering, yes, I did lighten my hair on my most recent trip to LA for the Holidays. My hair stylist added more highlights which is why it looks lighter. I’m loving this blonde look!

Hope this helped and if you try it out, let me know!
