As most of you read in my previous posts, I decided to once again (for the 800th time!) get back on track and started off with a cleanse. You can read all about it here, and the halfway update here.

As I mentioned in the previous posts, I started the 365 Everyday Value 7 Day Quick Cleanse over a week ago and said I would be giving my thoughts on it. The cleanse is only for 7 days (obviously) which is one of the reasons I like it. You’re supposed to take two caplets of Step 1 and one scoop of the Acacia fiber in 8oz of water in the morning, then at night, you take three caplets of Step 3 and another scoop of the Acacia fiber in 8oz of water. You do the same thing for 7 days. You don’t need to stop eating, just try to eat a healthy, balanced diet. You must also drink plenty of fluids, preferably water, throughout the day during the course of the 7 days in order to help flush the toxins out of your system. This product will make you go to the bathroom more than usual but not excessively, and it will not cause diarrhea (at least in me, it didn’t). This product made me feel much better after the bad month I had. It got rid of the bloating I had felt for awhile as well as some of the pains I had been feeling because of my digestive problems. Overall, it’s a great product and I recommend it if you want a quick cleanse. You can purchase it at Whole Foods and it retails for $19.99.

I also wanted to update you on my workout. As you recall, I’ve been going outdoors with my trainer and friends for my workouts. Last week, we went to Signal Hill and walked a little over 2 miles of which part of it was a hike on a steep hill. To say it was brutal is an understatement. I hadn’t done that hill in a few years and as I had mentioned in a previous post, I hadn’t been working out the whole month of August and part of September. It was hard but I toughed it out and it was worth it at the end. The view we had once we reached the top of the hill was absolutely beautiful because the sun was setting on the horizon. We could see some of the colors already there when we arrived but the view was much more beautiful later that night. I wanted to share with you a few of the pictures I took while up there.

Another thing I wanted to share was that I stopped drinking coffee (I’m still having withdrawals!) and I also stopped eating fried foods. I made this decision because as I had mentioned before, my acid reflux was out of control and I didn’t want to cause major damage to my esophagus. I decided I didn’t want to take any medication for it and opted for the natural way. Besides stopping the caffeine and fried foods, I also need to stop eating heavy foods (such as pizza, hamburgers, etc.) and spicy foods, that can be difficult as I eat very spicy foods. In order to heal my esophagus from the damage it currently has, I need to drink Aloe Vera juice, about 2-3oz a day (prescribed by my doctor). I purchased the juice this weekend and I plan on starting next week. I’ve avoided these foods this whole week and I must say, I have definitely noticed a difference. The pain I constantly had, is now completely gone and the bloating is gone as well. It’s unbelievable how much better I feel in only one week.

Those are all the updates I have for you now, I will keep you updated on more as it happens. Thank you for joining me on this journey.
