happy_4th

Hey, guys!!! Hope you all had a great 4th of July! For those of you who live outside of the USA and maybe don’t know, the 4th of July is our Independence Day and it’s a major holiday here. Almost everyone has the day off and we end the night with fireworks to commemorate another year of our independence. Because the 4th of July was on a Friday this year, we had a long weekend and it seems like everyone left town on vacation. We had originally planned to go away for the whole weekend to Mexico, but unfortunately, due to some last minute changes, we were unable to do so. So, we decided to spend the day in San Diego. San Diego is a coastal city here in California that borders Mexico and is about an hour and a half drive from Los Angeles. San Diego is hands down one of my favorite cities in California and one I wouldn’t mind living in, so whenever I get a chance to visit, I do so. We had to be back that same night so we decided to just go for the day since it’s not that far away from us.

Once we arrived in San Diego, we drove around the downtown area and then decided to go eat. There is a pizza place that I love and is a must visit every time I’m in San Diego. It’s called Filippi’s Pizza Grotto and the location I always visit is in the Little Italy neighborhood of San Diego. If you’re ever in San Diego, make sure to check it out! After we ate, we drove to Coronado Island. Coronado Island is an island that connects with San Diego by means of a bridge and it’s a super cute town. If you’re familiar with the Long Beach area in California, Coronado Island is very similar to Belmont Shores and Naples. After driving around and walking a little, we then went back to San Diego and went to the Gaslamp District. Here are a few pictures I took.

Of course, there is much more to do in San Diego, but like I said, we had to come back that same night so we didn’t get a chance to do it all. Once back in LA, we decided to watch the Disneyland fireworks, so we headed over there.
