Most of us have personal and professional goals, and some of us may even have set dates or timeframes  as to when we would like to accomplish them. I’m one of those persons. I’m a very organized person who can also be a perfectionist most of the time so I like to plan ahead. I have a set idea in my head of how everything should pan out and I get frustrated when things don’t come out as planned, which is mostly all the time.

No matter how much we plan our lives whether personal or professional, chances are, it will most likely not happen that way. But I believe there’s something special about throwing our goals and desires out into the universe, as well as praying for it, I’m a big believer in the power of prayer. Because of that, I’ve been meaning to create a vision board for several areas in my life, but have yet to actually do it.

Whether you know me in person or just follow me through my blog, you know by now that I love traveling, I really do. I believe we should travel as much as possible and learn as much as possible about the country/place we’re visiting, the people and their culture along the way. One of my favorite travel quotes is:

“Travel. As much as you can. As far as you can. As long as you can. Life’s not meant to be lived in one place.”

I decided to create this post to make some sort of a virtual vision board. I want to share with all of you my short-term travel goals, and throw it out into the universe while I’m at it. They are in no specific order.

5 countries I want to visit within the next five years

1. France

Paris, the French Riviera, and the countryside for the French vineyards.

5.  USA-Cross country road trip

Now, I’m not a road trip kind of person, as a matter of fact, I’d rather fly anywhere that’s more than 2 hours away, but this is one I’d really like to do. I want to take about two weeks to drive it all while stopping along different states and staying 1 or 2 nights in specific cities. When younger, my family and I made a road trip from Los Angeles, California to Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada) and stopped along the way in Northern California, Oregon, Washington (state) and eventually crossing the border into Canada. We did it in two weeks and we absolutely loved it. That’s why I want to do this road trip in the USA because I would get the chance to travel to states and cities I’d probably never visit on their own.

These are only some of the many trips I’d like to take in my lifetime, but they are the ones I have a mental note of wanting to do in the short term. I’ve actually planned a Europe trip on two different occasions which would’ve covered the first three on this list, but for various reasons, we weren’t able to go through with them. I believe everything happens for a reason so I know that it just wasn’t my time to visit. My heart is set on accomplishing these in less than 5 years, but I’m giving myself 5 years just in case.

What about you? What trips would you like to make in the next few years? Do you plan ahead like me? If so, what travel plans do you have? Let me know in the comments below!
