Hey, guys!!! I’m going to be starting a new section for food on my website. It will include my restaurant reviews, my cooking recipes and/or anything related to food. Hope you guys enjoy it! This is my first post!!

So, I recently heard about this restaurant that served churros and a variety of coffees and me, being a coffee lover, decided to check it out. Now, I obviously checked out the reviews on Yelp (as I always do) and they all raved about the variety of churros they served, not to mention how delicious they were. Seems like the owner is from Venezuela and this specific type of churro I ordered is Spanish style. Because of that, I decided to check it out!

The restaurant is called Churros Calientes and it is located in Los Angeles. First of all, the place is very small and you can easily miss it if you’re not paying close attention. The parking is very limited in front so you need to find parking in the surrounding streets.

After taking a look at the menu, I ordered the churros con chocolate (as seen in the picture-$7.00). The menu describes it as: “With a cup of spanish hot chocolate. Made with organic flour. Worldwide best seller. Add a cup of spanish style homemade hot chocolate to churros calientes and you might as well be in Madrid.” It looked delicious once they served it so I was excited to try them! The churros were okay, but not as good as I expected. They didn’t have much sugar or cinnamon so they weren’t that tasty. The chocolate was kind of watery; not as thick and creamy as it’s supposed to be. These were in no way Spanish style at all. They were good, but not equivalent to all the Yelp rave it receives. To drink, I ordered the café mocha, which was pretty good (also seen in the picture-$4.75).

Would I go back? Yes, I would, but most likely wouldn’t order the same thing. They have a variety of Venezuelan style churros, so I’d probably go for those. Would I go back specifically for that? No, but if I was in the area and there wasn’t too much of a wait, I’d stop by. They also serve salads and paninis, but I’d probably go just for dessert and coffee. If you get a chance to visit, let me know what you think! The restaurant is located at 11521 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90025. Hope you enjoyed my review!
